Dear Sir,
Noise pollution is called the silent killer, which has harmful effects on public health. Noise pollution is increasing day by day on the Rajshahi University campus, creating disturbances and problems for students.
During Rag Day celebrations or various events, foreign songs are played at high volumes during the day. Additionally, the use of loudspeakers and microphones late into the night disrupts students' studies, sleep, and daily activities. Particularly in winter, loud music is played in different parts of the campus due to picnics and other gatherings, which hampers students' concentration. Moreover, on holidays, unwanted crowds of outsiders gather on Paris Road and other locations. As a result, residential students face various complications. Traffic congestion occurs in the Kajla and Binodpur areas due to excessive vehicles. Furthermore, crimes like theft and mugging are also on the rise.
The administration must take effective measures to prevent noise pollution. The uncontrolled entry of outsiders should be restricted, and strict actions should be taken against those responsible for creating noise pollution.
Additionally, increasing awareness among everyone is essential for a permanent solution.
