Technology is changing the face of modern agriculture! The once conventional farming is becoming more productive, sustainable, and profitable with the touch of technology. At the same time, production costs are also decreasing. Monitoring land conditions using drones, automatic irrigation systems, and advanced seed and fertilizer management-these are incredible advances in technology in agriculture. With the help of digital technology, farmers are now able to cultivate more efficiently than before. As a result, more yield is being ensured in less time, at less cost. The smart agriculture of the future is being developed with the help of technology!

Agriculture is one of the main sectors of the economy of Bangladesh, which contributes about 13-15% of the GDP and ensures employment for more than 40% of the people. According to the analysis of experts, several main factors need to be given importance for the development of the agricultural sector of Bangladesh.

Although agricultural production in Bangladesh is continuously increasing, it is necessary to adopt more advanced technologies and policies for food security due to the increasing population. Although Bangladesh is self-sufficient in rice production, production is at risk due to climate change, increasing salinity, and floods.

Bangladesh is facing serious risks in the agricultural sector due to climate change. Continuous temperature increase, abnormal rainfall, cyclones, and river erosion are negatively affecting agricultural production.

Experts on the role of technology and agricultural mechanization believe that the use of modern technology can increase agricultural productivity. For example, it is possible to increase production through the use of tractors, combine harvesters, drip irrigation, and modern seeds.

The Bangladesh government is providing various subsidies and incentives in the agricultural sector, but experts believe that the policy aspects need to be further modernized. There is a need for better management in the areas of agricultural credit, seed and fertilizer subsidies, and marketing of agricultural products.

Bangladesh's agriculture is mainly dependent on soil fertility. Productivity is declining due to excessive use of chemical fertilizers, declining groundwater levels, and water pollution. Regarding this, Dr. SM Aminul Islam (Soil Scientist): "We need to increase the use of organic fertilizers for sustainable agriculture. In addition, attention should be paid to reducing the pressure on groundwater and conserving rainwater."

According to experts, sustainable farming, modern technology, ensuring fair prices for farmers, measures to adapt to climate change, and adopting improved policies are essential for the development of Bangladesh's agricultural sector. It is possible to further strengthen the agricultural sector through proper planning and the proper use of technology, which is essential for the country's food security and economic stability.
The role of technology in the modernization of agriculture in Bangladesh is increasing day by day. Agricultural officers believe that the use of modern technology can play an important role in increasing productivity in agriculture, reducing costs, and improving the quality of life of farmers. However, awareness-raising, training, and government policy support are needed for the successful implementation of technology-based agriculture.

According to agricultural officers, agriculture in Bangladesh is still mainly labor-intensive, but if mechanization is increased, production will increase further.
Agricultural officers believe that it is possible to increase production by reducing water wastage through the use of irrigation technology.

The use of digital technology can make agricultural management more effective. Monitoring crop conditions through mobile apps, satellite imaging, sensor-based agricultural technology, and drones is now becoming a part of modern agriculture. In this regard, Tanvir Hasan (Assistant Agricultural Officer, Chittagong): said, "Farmers are getting the right advice at the right time through digital agricultural information service platforms, agricultural hotlines, mobile apps, and drone technology. The use of IoT (Internet of Things) and AI-based technology in agriculture will further increase production."

Agricultural officers believe that it is possible to make agricultural production sustainable by using organic fertilizers and biofertilizers instead of chemical fertilizers.

The importance of technology-based market systems is increasing to ensure fair prices for agricultural products. Farmers are able to sell their products directly to consumers using online marketplaces.

According to agricultural officers, the development of technology-based agriculture requires emphasis on mechanization, use of digital technology, improved irrigation systems, organic fertilizers, and use of improved varieties of seeds. However, for this, it is necessary to increase the training of farmers, policy support, and public-private partnerships. If the productivity and sustainability of agriculture can be ensured through the use of advanced technology, the agricultural sector of Bangladesh will become more prosperous.
