Shipping Adviser Brigadier General (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain has paid a visit at Chattogram Port on Thursday.

The adviser visited the customs auction shed, port car shed and port jetty and port terminal around 11:00 AM.

The leaders and activists of the port workers requested to talk with the adviser demanding not to privatize the CCT and NCT yards of Chittagong Port. But it was not possible due to lack of pre-determined schedule.

Meanwhile, Chittagong Port Nationalist Sramik Dal (former CBA) formed a human chain demanding cancellation of the decision to privatize the NCT.

Visiting the auction shed, Shipping Adviser Sakhawat Hossain told journalists, "I have instructed the customs officials to complete the auction process within a short time."
