A housewife allegedly took her own life by taking insecticide, used for killing insects, over family feud in Natore�s Singra upazila on Wednesday night.
The incident happened around 10:30 PM at Boroga Dighipara area of Dahiya union in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Sharmin Khatun, 28, wife of Murad Pramanik, a resident of the area.
According to locals, there had been a family dispute between Sharmin and his husband Murad over poverty. Sharmin locked into an altercation with her husband centering the issue at night. She, at one point, took insecticide and fed her three daughters, leaving them injured on the spot.
Her husband, with the assistance of locals, took them to Singra Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors referred them to Bogura Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.
The doctors, on-duty, declared Sharmin dead upon arrival. Her three daughters, however, were undergoing treatment at hospital.
Singra Police Station officer-in-charge Asmaul Haque confirmed the matter and said that they were looking into the matter.
