HC scraps appointments of 6,531 primary teachers

The High Court has cancelled the appointment letters of 6,531 candidates who qualified for the post of assistant teachers of government primary schools.

An HC bench of Justice Fatema Nazib and Justice Shikder Mahmudur Rajib issued the order on Thursday.

Earlier on November 19, 2024, the HC stayed a government decision to grant appointment letters to 6,531 candidates.

The HC passed the stay order as their recruitment process was completed under the quota system which was scrapped by the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in July the same year.
