Dr Mala Khan, who claiming herself to be the Chief Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Reference Institute for Chemical Measurements (BRiCM), has alleged that she is now being pressured to resign from the post of Chief Scientific Officer after forcing her to resign from the post of Director General of BRiCM.

Dr Mala Khan made these allegations at a press conference in DRU Sagar-Runi Auditorium on Monday afternoon.
She said "When all the conspiracies have failed one by one, new false allegations are being made. Demands are being made for the resignation of the Chief Scientific Officer. Demands are being made for his dismissal from the office. Apart from this, social and family insecurity is being created."

The main objective behind all this is to destroy this institution. Tests are stopped in the lab here. All the tests that are stopped will be taken to neighboring countries. This will harm the country. A powerful gang is working behind this, she alleged.

At the press conference, Dr Mala Khan claimed that the allegations against her of having fake PhD degree, embezzlement of project funds, kidnapping of an assistant scientific officer and other allegations, which are false. She said that after she resigned from the post of Director General on August 12 last year, the keys of the lab and office were taken over by the members of the agitating group.

She has not been able to enter the office for the last two months. In her absence, her personal and official files have been searched and important documents are being viewed.
