Fire burns 11 shops in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 5: A devastating fire gutted 11 shops in Kazirhat Bazar area under Fatikchhari upazila of the district Wednesday morning.

Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) Officer of Fatikchhari upazila Kamal Uddin Chowdhury said the fire broke out from an electric short-circuit at a shop around 7:15 am and quickly engulfed the adjacent shops.

Being informed, two firefighting units from Fatikchhari Fire Station rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control around 9:15am, the source added.
However, eight shops were completely gutted while three others were partially damaged.

Chowdhury said the extent of damages in the fire is approximately Tk 10 lakh. �BSS
