Hundreds of students of the university gathered in front of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall and started effacing Bangabandhu's name from the hall nameplate around 9:40 PM. The students kept the name of the hall after Bijoy 24.

The agitating students demolished the Bangabandhu Mural constructed in front of the university's administrative building and renamed it after Mukta Mancha.
