BSF detains Bangladeshi youth from Chuadanga border

A Bangladeshi national from Medinipur border area under Jibannagar upazila in Chuadanga district has been detained by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday.

The arrested youth is Sajib, 20, son of Shofiqur Rahman, a resident of the same area in the upazila.

Confirming the matter, Maheshpur BGB-58 Battalion�s Captain and Director Lieutenant Colonel Rafiqul Alam said that a patrol team of BSF arrested Sajib along with three Indian nationals while three to four Bangladesh youths including Sajib were entering India through Medinipur border for bringing phensedyl.

Sensing the presence of the BSF personnel, other youths managed to flee the scene. Later, Indian police took Sajib to their custody, he added.
