Law and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Asif Nazrul has announced that the complete reports of six reform commissions will be published on February 8, along with a set of recommendations.
He shared the information while speaking at a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Tuesday evening (February 4).
The event was attended by Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Mazumdar, and Assistant Press Secretary Suchismita Tithi.
Asif Nazrul stated that on February 8, the heads of the reform commissions would present their recommendations outlining the necessary short-term, medium-term, and long-term actions required for the reform process. The full report and recommendations will be delivered to various political parties and the forces involved in the July mass uprising on the same day.
He further mentioned that following this, discussions and negotiations among political parties and factions involved in the July mass movement will take place, leading to the first formal meeting of the National Consensus Commission. This meeting is expected to be held in mid-February.
The legal advisor also stated that the exact date would be finalized in consultation with political parties.
The first meeting of the National Consensus Commission will be presided over by Commission Chief Professor Muhammad Yunus. Representatives from all political parties and movement-aligned forces, along with the commission heads, will be present at the meeting.
