2 killed in B'baria clash over land

Two people were killed and at least five others injured in a clash between two groups over a land dispute in  Brahmanbaria's Sarail upazila on Tuesday.

The incident took place in the morning at Bishutara village under the upazila. 

The dead Anamat Mia, 65, and Azad Ali, 50, were residents of that village.

Sarail Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Tapan Sarkar said that the deceased Azad Ali had a dispute over land with his nephew Insan for a long time.

On Tuesday morning, Insan's men allegedly attacked on Azad. He was rescued and sent to Brahmanbaria District Sadar Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

Later, upon being informed, Azad's men attacked Insan's house. The two sides clashed, resulting in five people being seriously injured.
