Hijra individual stabbed dead in Rangamati

A member of Hijra community was allegedly stabbed to death at Kaukhali upazila in Rangamati on Monday.

The victim's body was recovered from a house in Peshkarghona area under Betbunia union of the upazila around 6 pm, said Kaukhali Police Station OC Saiful Islam Sohag.
The dead was identified as, Sheela, 35, lived in a rented house in the area. The victim was known as the head of Hijara community in Kaukhali upazila.

The OC said that the deceased had stab wounds on throat and stomach. The body has been taken to Rangamati General Hospital for autopsy on Tuesday. However, no trace of the victim's relatives has been found, added OC Saiful Islam.
