Ex-Sirajganj lawmaker Abdul Aziz arrested from Dhaka

Former lawmaker from Sirajganj-3 constituency Dr Abdul Aziz was arrested on Monday night.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) during a raid at Kalabagan area in the capital on Monday night and arrested Abdul Aziz from there.

ASP Khan Asif Topu, assistant director of RAB-2, confirmed the arrest news in a message.

He said Abdul Aziz was arrested in an attempt to murder case initiated at Sirajganj's Tarash Police Station.

Legal action is under process, the ASP added.

Aziz, a former director of Dhaka's Shishu Hospital and a renowned paediatrician, was the president of the pro-Awami League Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad's Shishu Hospital unit.
