One killed, 5 injured in Sirajganj road accident

A man was killed and other five were injured when a passenger bus lost its control and overturned on the road at Ullahpara upazila in Sirajganj district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Selim Reza, 46, son of Jamal Uddin, a resident of Chadpur village of the upazila.

The accident took place at Harinchora area under Solonga union of the upazila on the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway.

According to witnesses, a speedy passenger bus was heading towards Natore in dense fog in the morning. The driver of the bus lost his control over the steering and the bus overturned on the road, leaving the bus passenger Selim dead on the spot.

on information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body, saidAbdur Rouf, officer-in-cahrge of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station.

The bus was seized but the driver of the vehicle managed to flee from the scene, the OC added.
