Fake NSI detained in Natore

Police arrested a youth posing as an official of the National Security Intelligence (NSI) at Baraigram upazila in Natore district on Monday afternoon.

The arrested youth is Jahidul Islam Roni, 19, a resident of Diargarfa village in the upazila.

It was learnt that the accused used to introduce him as an NSI officer, cheated and acquired money from people.

Acting on a tip-off, an NSI team conducted a raid and detained Roni from his house. At that time, the NSI team recovered a �NSI� mark jacket, a fake ID card, two mobile phones, four SIM cards, an ATM card and a power bank. Later, he was handed over to police.

Baraigram Police Station officer-in-charge Sirajul Islam confirmed the detention.
