Man dies of dengue at Bagatipara hospital

BAGATIPARA, NATORE, Jan 31: An elderly man died of dengue while undergoing treatment at Bagatipara Upazila Health Complex in the district on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Hisab Ali, 70, son of Sekendar Ali, a resident of Chakshov Village under Changdhupail Union in neighbouring Lalpur Upazila.
The deceased's grandson Sumon Ali said that Hisab Ali had been suffering from fever for few days. After taking treatment at a private clinic in Rajshahi, he was brought home on January 22. Later on, he was taken to Bagatipara Upazila Health Complex on Wednesday evening following the deterioration of his condition, where he died at around 11 pm while undergoing treatment.
Physician of the health complex Dr Rezaul Karim confirmed the matter, adding that the man was dengue positive.
