The Jagannath University Journalists' Association (JnUJA) hosted a basic journalism training workshop, with over 200 students from diverse departments attending. The day-long event took place on Tuesday in the university's central auditorium.
JnUJA President Imran Hossain presided over the workshop, which was moderated by General Secretary Mahtab Hossain Limon.
Renowned professionals led the sessions, including Dr. Shah Md. Nister Jahan Kabir, Chairman of the Film and Television Department; Fayez Ahmed, Senior Assistant Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser; Manik Muntasir, Special Correspondent of Bangladesh Pratidin; and Zakaria Ibn Yousuf, Multimedia Head of Kaler Kantho.
The trainers covered a wide range of topics, including the basics of journalism, ethics, investigative reporting, and mobile journalism. They also shared personal anecdotes and experiences, offering practical guidance and inspiration to aspiring journalists.
A highlight of the workshop was a quiz competition at the programme's end. Jannatul Bushra, a student from the Department of Bangla, clinched first place, while her classmates Asaduzzaman and Sagar secured second and third positions, respectively.
