Students of seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University gave a 4-hour ultimatum to press home their six-point demands, including the resignation of DU's pro vice chancellor Professor Mamun Ahmed and to set up a dedicated university for the colleges.

At 12pm Monday, the students held a press conference on Central Shaheed Minar premises in the capital.

The demands include: to ensure justice for overnight clashes, to suspend AC, OC and other police officials of New Market Police Station involved in an attempt to murder of Dhaka College student Rakib, to bring those under trial who used abusive words to Eden Mohila College and Begum Badrunnessa Government Girls' College students.

Sajib, a leader of the protesting students, warned that they would definitely go for strong movement if their demands are not met by 4PM.
