300 illegal establishments evicted in N'ganj

Authorities have evicted around 300 illegally placed shops and constructions at Sonargaon upazila in Naraynganj district on Sunday.

The drive, led by Sonargaon upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Monjur Morshed, was conducted from Sunday morning to till the afternoon.


According to witnesses, lots of illegal establishments and shops were placed illegally along the Dhaka-Chottogram highway near Mogpara intersection. These shops have been disrupting the traffic flow of the area and making obstructions for pedestrian for a long time.

On information, the authorities conducted the driver and evicted those illegal constructions including shops. Meanwhile, five shopkeepers were also fined of Tk 4,000, confirmed the Land Commissioner Monjur Morshed.

During the eviction, Kanchpur Highway Police Sation officer-in-charge (OC) Wahed Morshed and other local administrator were present.
