Aricha-Kazirhat ferry services resume after 3hrs

The ferry movement on the Aricha-Kazirhat route in Manikganj resumed at 8:15AM on Sunday, after three hours' of suspension.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) authorities have suspended the services since 5:30AM due to poor visibility as the dense fog blanketed the river bed.
The density of fog has increased in the area since midnight. This has made the ferry services on the route risky and the marking lights of the ferry have become dim, said BIWTC Aricha Office DGM Nasir Hossain.

All the ferries, however, started to move as the fog density subsided around 8:15AM, he added.
