Man dies as tree branch falls on him

A man died after a tree branch fell on hm at Sarishabari upazila in Jamalpur district on Saturday.

The deceased, Abdul Majid, 55, was a wood trader by profession.

The incident occurred at Gendar para village under Pogoldia union of the upazila around 11 AM on Saturday.

According to locals, Majid was both a wood trader and woodcutter. In the morning, he went to one Anu Mondal’s house to cut a tree. At that time, a branch of a tree fell on his head and he died on the spot.

Sarishabari Police Station officer-in-charge Chand Mia confirmed the death and said that no complaint has been filed in this regard.
