11 shops gutted in Barguna fire

At least 11 shops and a house were burned to ashes in a fire that broke out at Amtali upazila in Barguna district on Friday late night.

According to witnesses, the fire originated at around 11 PM at Arpangashia bazaar from a electrical short circuit and within moments it spread to the whole markets. The fire has gutted 11 shops, including a house. 
Being informed, two units of Fire Service of Amtali and Taltali, rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control with the help of locals.

Amtali Fire Service warehouse inspector Md. Hanif confirmed the incident.

The victims claimed that the fire caused damage worth crores of taka, including cash and goods.

Amtali Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Ashraful said that victims will be provided governmental assistance after inspection.
