Three individuals, including child and elderly woman, found dead in separate incidents at Kaliganj upazila in Gazipur district on Saturday.
Among the deceased, two were identified as Araf Hosain, 4, son of Waliullah of the upazila’s Iswarpur village and Jamal Uddin, 45, son of late Shahid of Rupganj upazila’s Daudpur union in Narayanganj district.
However, the identities of the woman, age around 65, is yet to be ascertained.
Kaliganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Alauddin confirmed the incident and said that police recovered the body of the child and the woman from the Upazila Health Complex.
Jamal’s relatives took his body without informing the police, the OC said.
He further elaborated, "Three individuals were recovered from separate places and brought to the upazila health complex. Later, police recovered two of them but the hospital authority did not informed about another one. Legal steps are ongoing in this regard."
Meanwhile, the on-duty doctor of the health complex Dr Ferdousi confirmed the deaths, adding that she informed two of the deaths to police but another remained uniformed as one of a hospital staff introduced himself as a relative of the deceased Jamal and took his body.
