Information Adviser Md Nahid Islam has said families of the martyrs killed in July Mass Uprising will start receiving financial assistance from February.
The initiative will be launched at the beginning of February, he also said.
Nahid Islam stated it while talking with the relatives of martyrs on Saturday (January 25) after offering fateha at the Rayerbazar Graveyard in Mohammadpur of the capital.
After offering fateha, he talked to the relatives of the martyrs and enquired about their families.
At that time, Nahid Islam said: "It will never be possible to repay the debts of blood of the martyrs. The present interim government will always stand firmly beside the families of martyrs. Distribution of financial assistance among the martyred families will start at the beginning of February."
The adviser also said identification process of the unidentified martyrs buried at Rayerbazar Graveyard continues.
It may be mentioned that the list of 834 martyrs killed in July Mass Uprising has been published. Each of these families will be given family savings certificates worth Tk 10 lakh during the current financial year. Besides, Tk 150 crore will be given as grant for the treatment of 15,000 people who were injured during the July Mass Uprising.
