A housewife was beaten to death with a hammer by her husband in the Dhaka's Bangshal area on Friday evening.
The victim was identified as Maksuda Khanam, 30, a resident of Gopalpur village at Enayetpur upazila in Sirajganj district.
It was learnt that Ibrahim,37, married to Maksuda around two years ago. Since then, there had been an altercation between them over family issues.
On Friday, Ibrahim murdered his wife and called the police.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for an autopsy, said Sub-Inspector Md Ferdous Alam of Bangshal Police Station.
Maksudas younger brother Mostafizur Rahman filed a murder case at Bangshal Police Station.
