Dengue: No death, 21 hospitalised in a day

No dengue death was reported in the country in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Some 21 new patients were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease in during same period.  With this, the number of patients hospitalised with the illness rose to 1,021 this year but the deaths from the infection remains at nine.

Among the new patients, six were hospitalised in the Dhaka metropolitan area, seven were in Dhaka Division, five in the Chattogram Division, and three in the Barishal Division.
As many as 172 patients are currently undergoing treatment for dengue in hospitals across the country. Of them, 84 are hospitalised in the capital and 88 are outside Dhaka.

A total of 101,214 patients were hospitalised due to dengue nationwide, with 575 fatalities reported in 2024.
