Mother, son killed in accident

COMILLA, Dec 30:A woman and her son were killed and another was injured as a covered van hit a rickshaw carrying them in front of Chauddagram upazila health complex on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Joynab Begum, 35, wife of Iqbal Hossain of Jinitkora village of the upazila and their son Rabiul Alam, 15.
Abu Faisal, officer-in-charge of Chauddagram Police Station, said the covered van hit the rickshaw when Joynab along with her two sons were returning from the health complex after taking treatment around 2:30pm, leaving the duo dead and Joynab's 3-year old son injured.
However, police arrested the covered van driver and seized the vehicle.
