JCD leader killed in Jashore road mishap

A local Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader was killed and one injured in a road accident at Jhikargacha upazila in Jashore district on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Najmus Sakib, 27, and the injured identified as Fahim Biswas, 26.
According to witnesses, the accident occurred when a speeding private car lost control over the steering and hit a roadside tree. Being hit, the car overturned and fell into a ditch at Keertipur intersection in the upazila.

Jhikargacha Nabharan Highway Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md. Rokunuzzaman confirmed the incident and said that the victim died on the spot.

Locals rescued the injured, Sakib, and took him to the Upazila Health Complex, the OC added.
