Awami League will not be allowed to take part in the elections anymore, said interim government adviser Mahfuz Alam on Saturday.
"Our struggle is for establishing a stable democratic Bangladesh. It's a fight to free Bangladesh from Awami fascism. If the Awami League returns to power, fascism will return with it," he said.
He made the remarks while speaking at a roadside meeting at Hajiganj in Chandpur district on Saturday (January 25).
Mahfuz Alam said Awami League would not be allowed to do politics in Bangladesh. Only pro-Bangladeshis including BNP and Jamaat would exercise politics in the country. No scope would be given anymore to establish BKSAL in the country.
The adviser was accorded a reception on behalf of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and Jatiya Nagorik Committee at Hajiganj Bazar when he was going to Ramganj upazila in his home district of Luxmipur.
Stating that elections will not be held without minimum reforms, Mahfuz Alam said election would be held after reform of the institutions through which fascist Sheikh Hasina had killed people. "People will never get their rights back unless election is held without reforming these institutions."
The adviser said those who will come to power through a free, fair and impartial election, they will establish the rights of people. But, rehabilitation of Awami League will never be happened in the country anymore.
He also said the interim government will hold talks with political parties and stakeholders soon based on the reports of the reform commissions. Then, the general election will be arranged."
