Dengue patients exceed 1,000 in 2025

Seven more dengue patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours until Friday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The number of dengue patients has now exceeded 1,000 in the current year with the new patients. 
   
The number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh now stands at nine this year.

Among the new patients, two were admitted to hospital under Dhaka North City Corporation while two were hospitalized in Dhaka South City Corporation.

Three others were hospitalized under the Chittogang City Corporation. 

Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people while 1,705 lives, making it the deadliest year on record, in 2023.
