Natore hospital treatment system to be automated

NATORE, Jan 24: The treatment service of the 250-bed Natore Sadar Hospital will be brought under the digital automation system very soon. The patients will get medical help within a short time, official sources said.

The work of this project has started; a total of 53,863 serving recipients have registered their names in this regard.
According to field sources, speed and transparency of the work under this system have increased much than the previous time; and broker's oppression has gone away from the hospital compound.
Indoor, Outdoor and Emergency patients are registering their names and other particulars from the ticket counter of the hospital by showing NID or birth date registration number.

So far, about 53,863 patients have registered their names to get treatment facilities in short time. The number of registered patients is increasing daily. But internet problem hampers the work sometimes. As a result, more than 35,000 patients are still in waiting for registration.

Patients can easily get the pathological reports and can buy medicines from the counter within short time by scanning the registered number.

Raihan Uddin, a medical technician of the pharmacy counter and Shahana Akhter in-charge of pathology bill counter of the hospital, said, now a patient is getting his desired service within 30 second to one minute if there is no problem of internet service.

Rezaul Karim, store keeper of the hospital, said, medicines worth Tk 8 crore are given to patients in a year. But after starting the automation system, he can do his departmental works easily.

Shahidul Islam, medical technician of the laboratory, said, pathological reports are now being made through digital automation system, and its quality is 100 per cent good.

Kulsum Begum who came to this hospital for taking treatment, said, she got a digital ticket within a minute. The system is very good, she added.

At present, dental, child care and NCDC department of the hospital are giving prescriptions to the patients through the automation system.

The same system will be provided in other departments by turn. The automation implementation department has provided a training system for the workers and employees for this purpose.

Md Khaled Mosharraf, engineer of the automation project, said, in the meantime 13 physicians and 32 other related persons were given training for this purpose. The training programme will continue, he added.

He further said, they are working to bring all medical works of the hospital under the digital automation project.

Dr Kamal Uddin Bhuiyan, residential medical officer of the hospital, said, all of the reports and records of the patients will be kept reserved in the server of the hospital for future purpose so that patients can get information from it easily.

"We are trying to stop the brokers' oppression in the hospital compound. Already we have made a progress in this regard because of using digital automation system," he added.
