Woman jailed for 10yrs for killing mother in Natore

A woman has been sentenced to ten years of imprisonment in a case for killing her mother in Gurudaspur upazila of Natore district four years ago.

Natore Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Muhammad Abdur Rahim passed the verdict on Thursday in absence of convict.

The court has also issued an arrest warrant for convict Nusrat Jerin Boby Khan, said Public Prosecutor Abdul Kader Mia.

According to the case documents, on March 22, 2021, Nusrat killed her mother Selina Begum with a sharp weapon out of anger for not buying a motorbike for her husband in Naribari village of the upazila. During that time, the convict was 16 years old.

Following the incident, victim�s brother Sultan filed a case in connection with the incident.
