ACC sues ex-Rajshahi MP

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against former member of parliament (MP) Abul Kalam Azad for Rajshahi-4 constituency and three others on Tuesday.

Deputy Assistant Director Borhan Uddin filed the case over money embezzling at Rajshahi office.

According to report, the accused include MP Kalam, contractor Khaled Mohammad, Taherpur Municipality of the district executive engineer Abdul Kader and the deputy assistant engineer of the municipality Jahidul Hoque.

They were accused of embezzling an amount of Tk 3,365,000 from a development project belonging to the Taherpur municipality. Allegedly, they did not complete the project properly.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested MP Kalam on October 2 in connection with a case filed over attacking protestors during the student movement. He is in jail till now.
