Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Tuesday (January 21) met Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) Amir and Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim in Barisal.

Jamaat Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman went to Charmonai Pir Saheb's Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim's madrasa in Barisal at about 12 noon. After inspecting the madrasa, both of them held a cordial meeting.
They shook hands of each other and exchanged pleasantries. Later, they took part in lunch at Charmonai Pir's house.

Jamaat Ameer went to the Charmonai Pir's house with fruits and sweets.

Earlier, two leaders of two leading Islamic political parties of the country replied to the queries of journalists.

At that time, the Charmonai's Pir Saheb said: "I'm happy that the Jamaat ameer has visited our madrasa centering the party's workers' conference in Barisal."

Asked whether their party would form an alliance with Jamaat-e-islami in the next national election, the Charmonai Pir said: "Voters will cast their ballots in favour of Islam. A congenial atmosphere has created for the pro-Islamic parties to work together. If we fail to do that, it will subsequently bring no benefit for the people in Bangladesh."

Asked whether there was a distance between Islami Andolon and Jamaat-e-Islami, the Charmonai Pir said: "We may have differences in our thinking, but our objective is same. We want to establish Islamic rule for the greater welfare of people."

At that time, Jamaat-e-Islami ameer also replied to various questions of newsmen. Dr Shafiqur Rahman said: "We have no dignity as an independent nation. Because, corruption and misrule are responsible for it. However, we will be able to achieve success if we follow the path of Allah. We have to work together to reach our goal."

He also mentioned that non-Muslim population won't face any problems in Bangladesh if the Islamic rule is implemented.

When the Jamaat Ameer left Charmonai's Pir's house, he was given Kashmiri shawl, Holy Quran and other gifts.
