Two die in Bogura road mishap

A man and his brother-in-law were killed in a road accident in Bogura Sadar Upazila on Tuesday.

The accident took place in the evening at Gokul Bazar on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway area of the upazila.

The dead were Nazrul Islam, 70, a retired bank official and a resident of Goalgari area of Bogura Sadar Upazila, and his brother-in-law Babul Islam, 57, of Joypurpara area. They ran an engineering firm and a bakery business.

According to police and locals, Nazrul Islam and Babul Islam were returning to Bogura town from Mahasthan by a private car in the afternoon. In the evening, their car lost control and hit a road divider at Gokul Bazar area. Both of them were seriously injured.

They were rescued and taken to TMSS Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.

Bogura Kunderhat Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monowaruzzaman confirmed the news.
