The students of Rabindra University (RUB) in Sirajganj staged a road blockade on Tuesday, demanding permanent campus for them.

The protest began at around 11 AM and blocked the Bogura-Nogorbari highway in front of their academic building no. 3. The blockade caused of  a 15-km long tailback on the highway.

Shahjadpur Police Station OC Md. Aslam Ali confirmed the blockade.

Protesters claimed that they had been protesting for a permanent campus for a long time. In reply, the administration assured that their demands will be met but never been implemented.

"The administration is spineless and inefficient. We need to build our campus as soon as possible," they said.

Being frustrated by their fake promises, students staged the protest and will continue till their demands are met, added the protesters.
