Two people were killed and another was injured after a sand-laden truck hit an auto rickshaw in Laxmipur's Sadar upazila on Monday.
The accident took place at around 11:00AM on the Laxmipur-Majuchowdhuryhut road in the Fesari area in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Anwar Hossain, 35, son of Rafiqullah, and Azad Hossain, 32, residents of the upazila.
It was learnt that the accident occurred in the area when a sand-laden truck hit an auto rickshaw, leaving a passenger of auto rickshaw dead on the spot and two others injured.
The injured were rescued and taken to hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared one dead.
M Abdul Monnaf, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, confirmed the matter.
