Police recovered the body of an autorickshaw driver from Jashore's Chowgacha upazila, two days after he was reported missing.

The deceased, Sohanur Rahman Rocky alias Sohag Hossain Rocky, 22, was a resident of Purahuda village and son of Liakat Hossain.
Meanwhile, the arrested are Sohanur Sohan, 17, of Purahuda village, Shariful Islam Sajal, 17, of Ichapur village, and Sujan, 15, of Panchnamna village.

The body was recovered from the Buribhairab River in Berbari area at around 1 AM on Sunday during a joint operation by Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) and Chowgacha police.

According to Rocky's mother, Sayera Begum, and his sister, Sharmin Khatun, Rocky's phone had been switched off since Thursday night. His father, Liakat, filed a general diary at Chowgacha Police Station on Saturday.

Chowgacha Police Statio officer-in-charge (investigation) Kamal Hossain stated that after receiving the complaint, a joint team from police and PBI began an operation. Using mobile phone tracker, they identified and arrested the three suspects.

Based on their confession, the victim's body was recovered from the riverbed.

PBI Superintendent of Police Reshma Sharmin confirmed the detention.

She further said, "During questioning, the suspects admitted that Rocky was a childhood friend of Sohan. On Thursday evening, Sohan called Rocky to join him. The group of four consumed hemp together after which they killed Rocky by strangulation with the intent of stealing his autorickshaw. They buried his body under the riverbed to conceal the crime."

OC Kamal Hossain stated that a murder case has been filed and the arrested individuals have been sent to court for further legal proceedings.
