Three teams of the ongoing Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football are struggling to skip the relegation zone.

After the eight round matches, bottom-ranked of the league table Chittagong Abahani have three points and Dhaka Wanders Club, standing ninth position in the league table, collected four points while Fakirerpool Young Men's Club bagged six points, all playing eight matches.

As per the bylaws of the league, two bottom-ranked teams of the 10 teams table will be relegated to Bangladesh Championship League.

Fakirerpool who, however, stand eight position in the league table, temporarily skipped the relegation zone following their 4-1 win over Dhaka Wanderers Club in the eighth round match, but Chittagong Abahani and Dhaka Wanderers Club most likely will face relegation.

Meanwhile, six times league champions Abahani Limited Dhaka, old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society, Brothers Union Club and holders Bashundhara Kings all are chasing the second position after Mohammedan already confirmed their top spot in the table of the first round with one match in hand.     —BSS
