Police arrested a man, who fled with handcuffs from Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZRMCH) while receiving treatment under the supervision of police, from Naogaon's Neamatpur upazila in Friday night.
The arrested man is Shahadat Hossain kolom, 30, an accused of extortion.
He was detained by Adamdighi Thana Police from Mohadebpur village in the upazila at around 10:00PM.
Earlier, he, along with his two assistants was detained and beaten by local people from Bogura's Adamdighi upazila while attempting to flee after snatching money from a Bikash trader.
Later, police recovered the trio from the local people and admitted Sahadat and Razu in the hospital, while another accomplice Badhon was admitted to Noagoan Sadar Hospital.
Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Adamdighi Police Station, said, " Based on secret information, Shahadat was arrested from his sister-in-law's house at Mohadebpur village. He will be handed over to Akkelpur Police Station."
