Chittagong Abahani finally broke the jinx as they tasted their first win in the ongoing Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football, beating Bangladesh Police Football Club by a 1-0 goal held at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Friday.

After the barren first half, Mohammad Fahim Morshed scored the decisive goal for Chittagong Abahani in the 55th minute of the match.

The police, however, tried their best to stage a fight back in the match, but they could not score any goals in the remaining proceedings, and eventually they had to leave the field with empty hands.

With the day's win, the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited opened their account with three points from eight matches while Bangladesh Police remained at their previous collection of seven points, playing the same number of outings.

Bangladesh Police will play their last round match against Rahmatganj on January 24, while Chittagong will meet Fortis Football Club at Bashundhara Kings Arena on January 25.
