Will the gas crisis not end?

Dear Sir

The gas crisis in Bangladesh has been a serious problem for a long time. However, Bangladesh is well known for this mineral resource, natural gas. Due to various irregularities, it has been a problem in Dhaka city for a long time, but recently it has taken a terrible form. Although there is a gas crisis all year round, it becomes severe in winter. Many areas including Mirpur, Basabo, Rampura, Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi, Jatrabari, Old Dhaka in the capital are facing a gas crisis every day. The gas pressure is so low in the morning and evening that one has to wait for hours to light the stove. In this winter, city dwellers are forced to cook in the middle of the night. Many are forced to buy electric stoves or cylinders. However, when the price increases due to syndicates, it is financially difficult for many. Gas is widely used in our cooking, industrial production, power generation and transportation sectors. Due to the lack of gas, the production system of industrial factories is being disrupted, and the country is facing financial losses. Illegal connections in factories and homes are one of the main reasons for the crisis. In addition, the syndicate is filling its pockets by reducing the government's revenue by tampering with bills. Preventing leakage and wastage through technological development and infrastructural development are essential. If the crisis is not resolved, the general public may believe the story of gas smuggling in the pipeline as true. I draw the attention of the appropriate authorities to take necessary steps to resolve the gas crisis and alleviate the suffering of the people of the capital and other urban areas.
