Man electrocuted in Lalmonirhat

LALMONIRHAT, Jan 17: A man was electrocuted in Kaliganj Upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Abu Bakkar Siddique, 45, a resident of Sundrahabi Village under Tushbhandar Union in the upazila.

Local sources said that Abu Bakkar came in contact with an electric wire of an irrigation pump while he was working in a cropland at noon, which left him critically injured.

Locals then rescued him and took to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared Abu Bakkar dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Kaliganj Police Station Selim Malik confirmed the incident.
