A minor child was killed and 100 houses were burnt in a fire that broke out at a Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf early Friday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Two others are still missing, according to the administration sources.

Around 11PM, the blaze broke out at the Nayapara Mouchani camp G-2 Block and spread soon. On information, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire after one hour of hectic effort with the help of Rohimgys residents, said Mohammad Kawsar Shikdar, commanding officer and additional deputy inspector general of Armed Police Battalion-16.

Later, police recovered the charred body of a five-year-old child.

Around 100 houses were burnt into ashes in the fire.
