Natore ex-BCL leader Riazul arrested from Ishwardi

Police on Thursday night arrested banned Bangladesh Chhatra League's Natore former general secretary Riazul Islam Masum from Pabna.

Confirming the arrest, Natore Sadar Police Station OC Mahabur Rahman said getting an information, a team of police arrested Riazul from Ruppur Power Plant area under Ishwardi upazila.

It was learnt that Riazul Islam is the close aide of Natore Sadar MP Shafiqul Islam Shimul.

He went into hiding after the fall of Awami League government on August 5. Angry mob torched and vandalised his house.

But Riazul was active in social media platform.

He was accused in number of cases, including murder, the OC added.
