Ferry services on the Daulatdia-Paturia route have been suspended due to dense fog. BIWTC suspended the ferry services on the route from 5:30 am on Friday (January 17).
Meanwhile, despite the suspension of ferry services, there is no pressure of passengers and vehicles on the Daulatdia side of Rajbari. However, those who are already at the ghat to cross the river are suffering in the winter.
Earlier, fog began to increase in the Padma River basin from midnight on Thursday. As a result, the beacon lights and marking points on the channel became unclear by early Friday morning. As a result, ferry services were suspended to avoid accidents.
BIWTC Daulatdia Ghat Branch Assistant Manager Alim Dayan said that ferry services on the route have been suspended since 5:30 am due to increasing fog density. Ferry services will resume once the fog clears. Currently, 12 small and large ferries ply this route for passengers and vehicles. There are five ferries on the Daulatdia side.
