A complaint was filed on Thursday with the International Crimes Tribunal against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 40 others over the murder of Dr Faiz Ahmed, the Nayeb-e-Ameer (vice-president) of Lakshmipur district unit of Jamaat-e-Islami, at his home in 2013.
Hasanul Banna, the victim's son, filed the complaint with the office of the Chief Prosecutor of the Tribunal.
The complaint accused Hasina, former home minister Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir, prime minister's defence adviser Tarique Ahmed Siddique, former additional director general of RAB Ziaul Ahsan, former CEO of RAB-11 Tarek Sayeed Mohammad, and 36 others of involvement in the murder.
After filing the complaint, Hasanul Banna described the incident in a written statement, "On the night of December 13, 2013, at 12:30am, Dr Faiz Ahmed was taken to the roof of his house, beaten, shot and then thrown from the roof to his death."
According to the complaint, a vehicle with RAB stickers, equipped with various government firearms, arrived at the victim's house in the Trimohoni area of the town.
