Four reform commissions submit reports to CA

The commissions for Constitution Reform, Election Reform, Anti-Corruption Commission Reform and  Police Reform on Wednesday submitted their reports to Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.

The reform commissions led by their chairmen presented the reports to the Chief Adviser  at his Tejgaon office in the capital.    
 
The Police Reform Commission was led by former Secretary Safar Raz Hossain,  the Election  Reform Commission --by SUJAN Secretary Dr Badiul Alam Majumder, the Anti-Corruption Reform Commission -- by Transparency International Bangladesh Executive Director Dr  Iftekharuzzaman, and the Constitution Reform Commission by Dr  Ali Riaz.

Law Adviser Asif Nazrul, Environment and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Judiciary Reform Commission Chairman Shah Abu Nayeem Mominir Rahman, the Public Administration Reform Commission Abdul Mouyeed Chowdhury, and Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam  were present.

The Judiciary Reform Commission and the Public Administration Reform Commission will submit their reports to the Chief Adviser on January 31.

While briefing about the reports of four commissions at Foreign Service Academy, Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul hoped that the interim government would be able to accomplish all the reforms  within its tenure.

Describing the four phases of the governments' work plan over reforms, Asif Nazrul said the commissions have already submitted their reports with recommendations and discussion will be held over reforms based on the proposals of the commissions.

A national consensus commission, led by Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, has been formed to hold the discussions. In the third phase, the government will formulate necessary laws and rules and those will be implemented in fourth phase, he said.
