Two brick kilns were fined Tk 1 lakh and their activities were shut down by the upazila administration at Rajasthali upazila in Rangamati district on Monday.
The upazila administration conducted a mobile court in the upazila, led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sojib Kanti Rudro, and stopped the operations of the brick kilns.
The brick kilns are KV Dabling Bricks, located at College Para village in the upazila, and BRB Bricks, located at Borotalai area under Gainda union in the upazila.
Sojib Kanti Rudro said that the mobile court was conducted to implement the order of the high court and to protect the environment.
Earlier, the High Court directed the administration to take legal action against all illegal brick kilns after Januarym 5, 2025.
