Ex-CCC councilor sent to jail

Former councilor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mohammad Elias has been sent to jail in a case filed over attacked the students during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 4.

Moniruzzaman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Halishahar Police Station, said that Mohammad Elias from a residence at Kalabagan in the capital on Sunday. Elias is a prime accused in a case filed by the wife of human rights worker Samrat with Halishahar Police Station on August 27.

Later he was sent to jail through a Chattogram Court on Monday.

Besides, two more cases were filed against Elias in Kotwali Police Station.
